About the RoleWe are looking to hire an Applied AI Developer to help build and support our growing AI capabilities. This is a hands-on, early-career role for a strong coder who wants to develop their skills by building real AI-powered applications, agents, and automations that deliver value across the business.You will work closely with our Sr. AI Engineer and AI consultants, who set the architecture and standards — while you focus on writing clean, reliable code and bringing AI use cases to life. This position is ideal for someone with a computer science background and solid software-building experience who is eager to specialize in AI.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On AI Development• Build and iterate on AI-powered applications, agents, and automations under the guidance of senior team members• Help develop RAG pipelines, copilots, and business automations using platforms like Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, and Claude• Write, test, and refine prompts, guardrails, and simple evaluation checks• Rapidly prototype AI use cases and turn approved prototypes into working features
Coding & Software Engineering• Write clean, well-structured, maintainable code in Python (or a similar language)• Participate in code reviews — both giving and receiving feedback — and apply team coding standards• Build, test, and debug software components, integrations, and APIs• Document your work so solutions are easy to maintain and hand off
Data & Integration Support• Help connect AI solutions to enterprise data sources, including Snowflake, through APIs and pipelines• Assist in building embedding pipelines, vector search, and data-prep tasks that make data AI-ready• Write SQL queries to retrieve, validate, and shape data for AI use cases• Follow established data governance, security, and compliance practices
Collaboration & Growth• Partner with the AI Solutions Architect, engineers, and business teams to deliver solutions• Adopt architecture, security, and responsible AI standards defined by senior team members• Continuously learn new AI tools, frameworks, and techniques, and share what you learn• Support deployed solutions by helping monitor quality, cost, and reliability
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience• 0–3 years of software development experience (internships, co-ops, and substantial academic or personal projects count)• Solid coding fundamentals and proficiency in Python or a similar language• Demonstrated experience building software — applications, tools, scripts, or integrations• Familiarity with core AI/ML concepts, LLMs, and working with APIs• Working knowledge of SQL and relational data• Strong problem-solving skills and a genuine eagerness to learn• Good communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to AI frameworks or SDKs (OpenAI, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar)• Experience with a cloud platform, especially the Microsoft/Azure ecosystem• Hands-on exposure to RAG, prompt engineering, or agent-based workflows• Familiarity with Snowflake or another modern data platform• Academic, hackathon, or personal projects involving AI/ML• Understanding of responsible AI principles (privacy, bias, security)
