Its IntraCast product first launched in Dec 2022, is being used by several marquee hedge funds. AKAnomics Inc was founded by Dr. Ajit K. Agrawal, a Wall Street pioneer in the use of traditional/alternative data and Nowcasting in macro and company research. AKAnomics Inc is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its core product team and focus on building machine learning and AI powered systems to scale and enhance existing signals. Role DescriptionWe're looking for a Data Scientist to help develop quantamental investment signals and AI-assisted financial research systems. You'll develop novel alpha signals using alternative and macro data, build equity KPI nowcasting products for hedge fund clients, and develop LLM-powered agents capable of reasoning across structured and unstructured data. Responsibilities include structured signal development, machine learning, prompt engineering, tool integration, document analysis, and building scalable data and ML infrastructure to support production systems. Qualifications • B.S in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Financial Engineering or similar. • 1–4 years experience in Data Science/Quant/Equity Research and NLP (Python). • Strong grasp of Python and SQL required. • Experience building AI Agent workflows, model eval systems, and prompt optimization. • Strong grasp of Statistics and Machine Learning, preferably with financial data. • Basic understanding of company fundamentals and financial/alternative data.
