Part-Time Platform Engineer

Two-location outpatient behavioral health practice. We've spent the past year building our own internal tools instead of waiting on vendors: patient self-referral, therapist availability, referral pipeline, onboarding. All internal, nothing public yet. They're prototypes — React from a CDN, browser storage, one system on Apps Script with Sheets as its database. No production backend. That's the job. What makes it interesting: real patients, real providers, live signal. Whether people finish the referral flow or abandon it halfway. Which screen the front desk quietly stops using. You hear it from them the same day, not through a ticket six weeks later. Team is me and one operations analyst learning to build with Claude. No senior engineer above you; you'd be the engineering function, and you'd help level them up. You'd own hosting, deployment, auth, access control, audit logging, backups — and review AI-generated code before it touches PHI. Most of our code is already AI-generated and that isn't reversing. We're not hiring someone to type features. We're hiring someone who knows when the output is wrong and will own that call. 2-4 years shipping production software. Stack negotiable.
