About the Role

The Team Lead, Organic Growth & Visibility is a senior player-coach role at the intersection of organic growth strategy, client partnership, and team leadership in the Digital Strategy department. You carry a portfolio of high-value accounts as a primary strategist while also managing a small team of digital strategists—setting the standard for how we work, holding the team to it, and developing the people who make delivery possible. This role exists to close the gap between execution and outcome. You translate SEO, GEO, and content work into business implications for clients, keep our methodology ahead of the market, and build the kind of trusted advisor relationships that drive retention and expansion. A fluent daily practitioner of agentic AI tools including Claude Cowork for audits, content briefs, analysis, and optimization at scale. Deep familiarity with creating & optimizing AI skills and workflows to iterate on internal AI tooling: testing, refining, and making recommendations for enhancements and changes that improve team efficiency and output quality. Success is measured by client outcomes first, team performance second, and the continued evolution of our practice. This position will spend at least 50% of time as a billable practitioner and report to the CEO of Eastern Standard. RevenueZen is a US-based agency specializing in online visibility, including SEO, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)/Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) that is integrated with Eastern Standard under parent company Onfolio Holdings. Compensation: $118,000 The Role • Serve as primary strategist on a portfolio of key accounts, owning the growth roadmap and the client relationship • Serve as an expert, providing strategic oversight on other accounts managed by the team of digital strategists. • Directly manage and own performance management of 2–3 digital strategists: set clear expectations, run weekly 1:1s, and provide ongoing coaching on both craft and client skills • Produce and review AI-assisted content briefs using strategic insights and client brand context to guide output quality, and setting the standard the team follows. • Lead quarterly strategy reviews that translate performance data into clear business implications and prioritized next steps • Build trusted advisor relationships grounded in genuine fluency in each client's business model, competitive landscape, and revenue drivers • Identify and pursue expansion opportunities within existing accounts—new channels, adjacent services, scope extensions • Lead high-stakes client conversations: strategy presentations, executive briefings, and renewal discussions • Stay ahead of GEO/AI search, Google algorithm developments, and B2B content marketing trends—translating shifts into updated internal practice • Join sales calls and prospect strategy conversations where organic growth expertise influences the decision • Contribute to proposals and pitch strategy for target accounts, including discovery, framing, and narrative What You Bring • 8–12 years in SEO, content strategy, or organic growth—with direct client-facing accountability throughout • Demonstrated track record of growing organic search visibility for B2B companies, with results you can speak to clearly • Builds and teaches integrated organic programs, treating SEO, GEO/AEO, content, and links as one connected system, and ensuring the team operates with that same coherence. • Deep, practitioner-level expertise in GEO/AEO: entity clarity, schema for citability, prompt-aligned content optimization, AI Overview and featured snippet targeting, and cross-platform visibility • Proven experience managing and developing individual contributors in a service or agency context • Ability to translate technical SEO and GEO work into business language for executive and non-technical audiences • Excellent listener and communicator—someone who builds trust through clarity, follow-through, and candor • Tool fluency across the organic stack: Ahrefs or SEMrush, GA4, GSC, Screaming Frog, Data Studio (Looker Studio), Scrunch AI or equivalent GEO monitoring tools, DataForSEO, and AI platforms including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini.
