Conversational AI Engineer

Title: Conversational AI EngineerLocation: Remote (must sit in California)Employment: Direct Hire (*Not open to C2C or visa sponsorship)Salary: $112,200–$125,000 annually We're looking for a Conversational AI Engineer to join our client's team and help build, optimize, and support enterprise conversational AI solutions. What you'll be doing:• Configure and maintain conversational AI solutions, AI agents, tools, and orchestration frameworks• Design conversation flows, prompts, workflows, knowledge sources, and escalation paths• Translate business and member-service needs into effective conversational AI experiences• Configure integrations with enterprise systems using APIs and service endpoints• Use JavaScript for validation, business rules, workflow orchestration, and integrations• Manage knowledge sources and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) configurations• Test, troubleshoot, monitor, and continuously optimize conversational AI performance• Support UAT, deployments, release management, and ongoing production operations• Collaborate across business, product, operations, technology, and vendor teams What we're looking for:• 3+ years of experience working with conversational AI platforms• 3+ years of hands-on JavaScript experience• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, APIs, and system integrations• Experience configuring conversational AI workflows, integrations, and user experiences• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience• Experience with Cognigy or similar enterprise conversational AI platforms is highly relevant.
