About the Role
Role Summary
We are seeking a Junior / Mid-Level AI & Machine Learning Engineer to help develop and deploy machine learning and AI-powered applications.
This role is open to candidates with a range of backgrounds, including software engineering, data science, machine learning, or related technical fields. Experience may come from professional roles, internships, academic work, freelance work, open-source contributions, or personal projects.
You do not need experience with every technology listed below. We are looking for candidates with solid programming fundamentals, an interest in AI/ML, and the ability to learn and contribute in a collaborative engineering environment.
Responsibilities
Develop and improve machine learning and AI-powered features.
Build and evaluate ML models for practical applications.
Work with Generative AI and LLM-based features where appropriate.
Prepare, clean, and validate datasets.
Build experiments and evaluate model performance.
Integrate models into applications through APIs, services, or batch processes.
Assist with testing, debugging, deployment, and monitoring.
Write maintainable Python code and participate in code reviews.
Work with cloud services and development tools as needed.
Document technical decisions, experiments, and application behavior.
Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and other team members.
Required Qualifications
Approximately 1–4 years of relevant technical experience, or equivalent experience through internships, academic work, freelance projects, or significant personal projects.
Working knowledge of Python or another relevant programming language.
Understanding of basic machine learning and software development concepts.
Some hands-on experience with machine learning, AI, data science, or related projects.
Familiarity with Git and standard software development practices.
Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and learn new technologies.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a remote team.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with any of the following is helpful, but not required:
scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar ML libraries.
Large language models, Generative AI, embeddings, or vector search.
RAG applications, AI agents, or NLP.
REST APIs or backend development.
SQL and databases.
AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Docker and containerized applications.
CI/CD or MLOps tools.
Model evaluation and monitoring.
Data processing or automation workflows.

Pay: $64,000.00 - $128,000.00 per year
