Job Title AI Product Engineer Salary $150k-$250k + Equity Company Description Crux is a $77M-funded capital platform for the clean energy economy, backed by Andreessen Horowitz and Lowercarbon Capital. The firm modernizes capital deployment for sustainable infrastructure, having facilitated billions in transactions and achieved profitability while scaling its AI-forward engineering team to accelerate the global transition to clean energy. Job Description As the first AI Product Engineer at Crux, you will bridge the gap between engineering, legal, and finance to revolutionize clean energy transactions. You will design and ship user-facing LLM products from scratch, building the frameworks for automated diligence and complex financial workflows that power the future of sustainable infrastructure. Location Remote, USA Why this role is remarkable • Join a high-growth fintech that is already profitable and has facilitated billions of dollars in clean energy transactions over just two years. • Be the first dedicated AI hire with massive ownership over the AI stack, picking your own tools and frameworks to build 0->1 products. • Work at a mission-driven company backed by elite investors like a16z and QED, operating at the intersection of climate tech and finance. What You Will Do • Collaborate directly with customers and legal teams to co-design and build AI-powered diligence tools for clean energy financing. • Architect and ship end-to-end full-stack features using NextJS, React, and Typescript, while iterating on LLM performance through CI/CD evals. • Establish the engineering culture and internal frameworks for how Crux develops, tests, and deploys high-quality AI products at scale. The ideal candidate • 4+ years of full-stack experience with the ability to build products end-to-end, ideally with fluency in the NextJS, React, and Typescript stack. • Proven track record of shipping user-facing LLM products and AI agents, with a deep understanding of prompting and iterating via evals. • Startup veteran who thrives in fast-paced environments, possesses an 80/20 mindset, and can move from concept to execution in half the usual time.
