This leadership role is responsible for building and scaling an enterprise AI Center of Excellence that transforms strategy into execution across business units. The position sits at the intersection of AI strategy, governance, and hands-on delivery, ensuring AI initiatives generate measurable business and client value. You will define operating models, prioritization frameworks, and responsible AI governance while enabling adoption across multiple functions. The role also plays a key part in identifying high-impact opportunities, accelerating AI-driven transformation, and fostering reuse of tools, models, and best practices across the organization. Acting as a bridge between executives, technical teams, and business stakeholders, you will translate vision into actionable roadmaps and scalable solutions. This is a high-visibility role combining strategy, execution, and organizational change in a fast-evolving AI landscape. You will also lead a small applied AI team focused on rapid prototyping and delivery acceleration.
Accountabilities
Lead and evolve the AI Center of Excellence by establishing its operating model, governance structure, and execution framework while ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities.
• Build and manage the AI CoE, defining its roadmap, delivery model, and governance practices
• Translate executive AI strategy into prioritized, actionable initiatives and measurable outcomes
• Design and implement AI intake, evaluation, and prioritization frameworks across business units
• Establish responsible AI governance, policies, standards, and risk management approaches aligned with enterprise frameworks
• Drive adoption of AI solutions and ensure delivery of tangible business value and operational improvements
• Partner with business leaders across functions (sales, finance, HR, operations, marketing) to identify and execute AI opportunities
• Develop mechanisms to track AI performance, adoption, reuse, and organizational impact
• Lead enablement efforts including training programs, AI literacy initiatives, and knowledge-sharing systems
• Oversee a small applied AI team responsible for prototyping, pilots, and rapid experimentation
Requirements
This role requires a strong blend of strategic leadership, technical understanding of AI, and cross-functional business acumen.
• Proven experience leading AI, automation, digital transformation, or innovation programs at scale
• Background in defining governance frameworks, operating models, and delivery structures for emerging technologies
• Experience partnering with executive stakeholders to prioritize and deliver AI-driven initiatives
• Strong understanding of modern AI technologies, including LLMs, copilots, and AI-enabled business applications
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and workflows (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar)
• Experience balancing rapid experimentation with security, compliance, legal, and risk considerations
• Demonstrated ability to work across multiple business functions to identify adoption opportunities and capability gaps
• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes
• Experience leading small, high-performing teams in ambiguous or fast-changing environments
• Background in building or scaling enablement, training, or organizational learning programs is highly desirable
