Remote AI/LLM Engineer (OpenAI/Lang Chain)

Responsibilities Kforce has a client in need of a Remote AI/LLM (OpenAI / LangChain) Engineer. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that support AI-enabled products and platform capabilitiesBuild and enhance internal frameworks for LLM orchestration, prompt lifecycle management, and autonomous agent workflowsArchitect systems that manage conversational context, state persistence, AI reasoning workflows, and decision-making processesDevelop robust APIs and data models that enable seamless integration of AI services across multiple applicationsEnsure AI services meet production requirements for performance, reliability, observability, scalability, and cost optimizationImprove and modernize existing AI infrastructure to support increased usage and evolving business needsCollaborate with engineering, product, and platform teams to embed AI capabilities into customer-facing and internal solutionsDefine and promote reusable architectural patterns, shared services, and best practices for AI developmentLead technical discussions, design reviews, and implementation planning effortsMentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learningSupport recruiting efforts through candidate evaluation and technical interviewingIdentify process improvements and contribute to increased team effectiveness and engineering efficiencyRequirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; Equivalent experience considered3+ years of professional software engineering experience in an Agile development environment1+ year of Professional experience designing, deploying, and supporting AI-powered solutions in production1+ year Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and distributed services1+ year of Demonstrated experience building or integrating LLM-based capabilities into commercial software productsStrong understanding of LLM architecture, including context management, orchestration strategies, evaluation methodologies, and prompt engineeringHands-on experience with LLM APIs, agent frameworks, conversational AI systems, or intelligent workflow automationProficiency in Python and modern software development practicesExperience working with backend frameworks such as Django, Flask, FastAPI, or similar technologiesExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google CloudExperience implementing monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability practices for production systemsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to influence technical decisions through collaboration, consensus building, and leadershipThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
