What You'll Do NetDocuments is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help shape the next generation of our document management platform. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who brings deep expertise building production-grade full stack applications and a strong track record of leading technical direction within their team. You'll operate as a hands-on technical leader, helping drive the architecture and delivery of scalable, event-driven systems across React, TypeScript, Node.js, C#/.NET, and AWS. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, Platform Services, and engineering leadership to solve complex technical challenges, integrate emerging technologies including AI-powered services, and ensure our platform continues to scale with the performance, reliability, and security our customers expect. You will: Technical Leadership & Team Impact • Serve as a hands-on technical leader, helping define technical direction and engineering standards across the team. • Lead architectural discussions and make technical decisions across frontend, backend, and distributed systems. • Establish patterns for building scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable applications. • Guide the evolution of the technology stack as the platform matures and scales. • Drive technical initiatives that improve system performance, reliability, developer experience, and engineering quality. Design & Build • Architect and build production-grade full stack applications using React, TypeScript, Node.js, C#/.NET, and AWS. • Design and implement event-driven architectures using AWS services, Kafka, and modern data pipelines. • Build responsive frontend experiences that make complex document management workflows intuitive and efficient. • Design scalable REST and GraphQL APIs that power product experiences and third-party integrations. • Build content enrichment and search capabilities that surface insights across large volumes of documents. • Integrate AI-powered services and emerging technologies that enhance document intelligence and user productivity. System Performance & Operational Excellence • Design resilient systems that maintain reliability and performance as the platform scales globally. • Instrument applications with logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and telemetry to proactively identify and diagnose issues. • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to scalability and reliability. • Ensure security, performance, and compliance requirements are incorporated throughout system design and implementation. •
