About the Role

Company Description At Nielsen, we are passionate about our work to power a better media future for all people by providing powerful insights that drive client decisions and deliver extraordinary results. Our talented, global workforce is dedicated to capturing audience engagement with content - wherever and whenever it's consumed. Together, we are proudly rooted in our deep legacy as we stand at the forefront of the media revolution. When you join Nielsen, you will join a dynamic team committed to excellence, perseverance, and the ambition to make an impact together. We champion you, because when you succeed, we do too. We enable your best to power our future. Job Description The Director of Product Management is a senior product leader, owning a defined product surface end-to-end — from strategy and roadmap through delivery, quality, and go-to-market. The role reports to the SVP of the Content Product organization. This position is a fit for a PM who is AI-fluent, technically credible, and has owned a revenue or retention metric at a previous company — not a coordinator, not a spec writer, but a builder with judgment. The Content Product Platform measures audience consumption of video content across all platforms and devices. The Director will contribute to modernizing Nielsen's measurement capabilities — integrating streaming, digital video, and creator content alongside traditional TV measurement — and will own a core module or workstream within the broader Content portfolio. Responsibilities The Director of Content Product Management-Technical operates at scale and drives rapid execution. Key operating principles that define how this role works day-to-day: Product Strategy & Roadmap • Own a defined module or workstream within Content Product end-to-end, including roadmap prioritization, wedge definition, and success criteria aligned to the eight product success criteria in the Content Product Platform and operating model. • Conduct ongoing market analysis of the streaming, TV, and digital video ecosystem to surface insights on emerging trends, competitor positioning, and client needs. • Maintain a prioritized product backlog grounded in customer pain-points, data signals, and quarterly strategy documents — not feature requests in isolation. • Translate SVP-level vision into executable roadmap milestones with clear owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes. Product Development & Delivery • Lead prototype-first development cycles: ship working artifacts early, use demos to drive alignment, and produce written specs as a downstream artifact. • Partner with Engineering, Data Science, and Global Data Solutions to drive timely, high-quality delivery of product increments across the full lifecycle — from requirements and design through QA and launch. • Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and API/data specs; serve as the primary day-to-day product contact for engineering teams. • Operate at the pace the Content Product model demands: concept to internal demo in days, not sprints. Stakeholder Collaboration & Go-to-Market • Collaborate with Sales, Client Success, and Marketing to develop go-to-market strategies, pricing inputs, and client onboarding materials for new product features and module launches. • Engage key internal and external stakeholders — including clients, industry partners, and industry associations — to ensure product decisions reflect real-world needs and support enterprise deal cycles. • Represent the Content Product team across cross-functional forums; communicate priorities, trade-offs, and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Serve as a subject matter expert in video content measurement, contributing to external thought leadership, client conversations, and industry forums as needed. Quality, Measurement & Continuous Improvement • Uphold Nielsen's gold-standard history of data accuracy, neutrality, and methodological rigor across all product decisions and launches. • Define and track KPIs across the product success dimensions: time-to-value, D30/W12 retention, expansion revenue, and compounding moat metrics. • Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of Nielsen's content measurement data. • Identify and address operational bottlenecks in development processes to improve team velocity without quality regressions. People Leadership • Foster a high-performance team culture built on accountability, speed, and user empathy — not artifact production. Qualifications • Domain Proficiency • Deep understanding of the streaming, TV, and digital video ecosystem: content lifecycle, distribution models, advertising measurement, and audience analytics. • Familiarity with Nielsen's measurement products or comparable audience measurement platforms is strongly preferred. • Working knowledge of data pipelines, APIs, and the technical architecture underlying media measurement products. • Product & Program Sop
