Overview
The Data Products Team within the Data Insights Group (DIG) at Paramount Global builds the internal platforms that power how the business understands streaming performance, audience behavior, and content strategy. We own the applications, APIs, and automation systems that analysts and stakeholders rely on daily.
You'll join a small team with outsized impact, working across NextJS applications, FastAPI services, and AI-powered workflows. We build and ship quickly, and the tools we create are used immediately across the organization. If you want to own products end-to-end and see your work drive decisions at scale, this is that type of role.
What You'll Do
• Architect and build internal web applications using NextJS and FastAPI
• Design and own backend services and REST APIs that power automation tools and AI-driven features
• Partner with data engineers to integrate BigQuery pipelines and metadata systems into user-facing products
• Drive features from concept through production, owning technical design, implementation, and reliability
• Solve ambiguous problems across the stack, balancing delivery speed with maintainability
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance
• Define and champion engineering standards around code quality, testing, and system design
• Shape the technical roadmap and architectural decisions as the team scales
Basic Qualifications
• 5+ years of software development experience building internal tools or data-driven applications
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience architecting production web applications with React or NextJS
• Experience designing and scaling REST APIs (FastAPI, or similar)
• Deep knowledge with SQL and cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake), including performance optimization
• Proven ability to own systems end-to-end: design, deployment, monitoring, and iteration
• Experience mentoring engineers and spearheading engineering standards
• Strong communication skills with non-technical stakeholders
Additional Qualifications
• Experience with workflow orchestration systems (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster) at scale
• Hands-on experience building production AI solutions, including agents, agentic workflows, and RAG systems
• Deep knowledge with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Google ADK) and their tradeoffs
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) into production, including prompt engineering and cost management
• Strong background in containerization and cloud infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, GCP/AWS)
• Background in data engineering, pipeline design, and building tooling for analysts
• Experience in media, entertainment, or streaming industries

Additional Information
Hiring Salary Range: $124,000.00 - 186,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
