You will contribute to building reliable, scalable and user-focused products, while helping the engineers around you grow and raising the quality of our technical execution. You will: • Understand and frame user and product problems, using your product knowledge to help your squad deliver simple, pragmatic and valuable solutions. • Lead significant technical deliveries within your squad, from understanding the problem to designing, implementing, testing and operating the solution in production. • Investigate and resolve complex production issues, using monitoring, observability and data analysis tools to identify root causes and prevent recurrence. • Design and evolve robust solutions, identifying performance, scalability and reliability opportunities and turning them into pragmatic technical improvements. • Bring strong expertise in at least one major part of our stack, while being able to join a new team and become autonomous on a high-impact initiative within a few weeks. • Improve engineering practices across the organization, through high-quality code reviews, pair programming, documentation, RFCs and the adoption of AI-assisted development without compromising software quality. • Act as a role model and a driver for other engineers, sharing knowledge, providing actionable feedback and helping the team continuously improve its technical skills and ways of working. • Collaborate effectively with other teams when needed, proactively unblocking technical topics and clearly communicating progress, risks, decisions and results to the relevant stakeholders. • Contribute to the Pennylane tech community, through technical content, onboarding, interviews, incident resolution, tech initiatives, meetups or other community-building activities. 🥇 You're the right candidate if you... • Have strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails (at least 7-8 years) • Combine technical expertise with strong product and business understanding, enjoy solving complex problems and care deeply about your users. • Are a collaborative team player, communicate clearly and take ownership of delivering reliable, pragmatic solutions. • Like being challenged and solving complex problems (accounting is complex in Europe) • Have strong communication skills and are capable of articulating your ideas clearly  🎁 What we offer • 🏢 You'll be able to work remotely from your country of residence, as long as it is in Europe and within a maximum time difference of two hours from the CET time zone • 🌴 Wherever you are based, you will get 30 vacations days paid by Pennylane • 💵 You'll have a competitive compensation package • 📈 You'll get company shares to enjoy a piece of the success story you're building with us • 🏡 You'll have a budget to turn your home into a more comfortable workspace, as well as a monthly allowance to work from a coworking space whenever you fe
