About the Role

Overview of the role: Note there is also a full time opening available, that a freelancer could look to move into if interested. PolicyMe is building a simpler, more affordable insurance experience for Canadian families. Our website is where customers learn, build trust, and take the next step toward coverage. We're hiring a freelance Marketing Designer, Web to raise the visual quality of that experience. You'll design, improve, and maintain our marketing site built using Webflow; turn Growth briefs into polished, component-led pages; and own quality through launch. Most of your work will be web and CMS-based, with select opportunities to support campaign creative, slides, ads, email UI, and other brand assets. This is not a product-design, UX-research, or front-end developer role. We need a strong visual designer with exceptional judgment in typography, hierarchy, layout, responsive design, and the details that make a page feel considered. You don't need to be a Webflow expert on day one: CMS fluency, good technical judgment, and an appetite to learn matter more. What you'll be doing: Design and ship great marketing web experiences • Turn Growth and Content briefs into polished Figma designs for landing pages, product pages, editorial hubs, and campaigns. • Build clear, conversion-aware, accessible, and responsive layouts using our design system and existing components. • Design new components when needed, extending our design system in a cohesive, reusable way. • Improve the marketing site's everyday surfaces, including navigation, templates, content modules, and EN/FR experiences (French language is not required) with the same care as major launches. • Bring a point of view to how PolicyMe shows up visually. As a startup, you'll have meaningful input into the evolution of our web and marketing design identity, in partnership with Growth and Design leadership. Own CMS quality and publishing • Learn and use our CMS and Webflow environment to build, update, and publish pages. • Own pre- and post-launch quality: responsive checks, visual QA, content and link validation, localization review, and clear resolution of inconsistencies. • Maintain and improve reusable Figma and CMS components, templates, and guardrails so the team can ship faster without compromising quality. Lead implementation with development agencies • Create complete handoffs for Webflow/development partners, covering interaction states, edge cases, annotations, and walkthroughs. • Manage design feedback through implementation and ensure launched work matches the intended experience. • Coordinate with Growth, Content, Design, and Engineering to clarify scope, surface dependencies, and keep projects moving. Be involved in Growth's broader creative work • Support selected needs across campaign creative, ads, slide templates, email UI, illustrations, and other marketing assets. • Use AI design tools—including Claude Design—to explore quickly, create wireframes and variations, and improve production speed, while applying strong human judgment to every final output. What we are looking for: Need to have's: • 2–4 years of experience in marketing, web, brand, or related digital design. Exceptional portfolios matter more than an exact number of years. • A portfolio made up of highly polished marketing websites or landing pages, plus evidence of breadth across formats such as campaign work, motion, illustration, presentations, ads, or email. • Excellent Figma skills and a sharp eye for typography, spacing, composition, hierarchy, image selection, and responsive behaviour. • Experience in a CMS or no-code/low-code site builder. Webflow experience is welcome, not required. • The ability to work within and thoughtfully extend an existing component system—not simply make one-off pages. • A meticulous, reliable approach to quality and a willingness to own both high-visibility launches and routine CMS/site-maintenance work. • Clear communication: you can write useful specs, give developers actionable feedback, and work effectively with non-design partners. • Comfort juggling concurrent requests, making practical trade-offs, and using AI tools to increase speed without lowering the craft bar. Nice to have's: • Webflow experience, including CMS collections, global components, slots and variables, responsive page building, or publishing workflows. • Basic HTML/CSS literacy. • Experience briefing, reviewing, or QAing agency or freelance developer work. • Experience in a high-trust, regulated, consumer-facing, or content-heavy business. • Familiarity with accessibility, localization, SEO-aware content templates, or conversion-oriented web design. Why join us: • Generous PTO - 20 vacation days • A comprehensive benefits plan with premiums paid in full by PolicyMe • Investment in your professional development, including an L&D budget, AI tooling budget, performance reviews twice a year and ongoing feedback to ensure you rea
