We turn a firm's institutional knowledge into a durable asset it owns and builds on, inside its own environment. Our mission is simple: bringing knowledge to life. We are a team moving very fast. Every engineer builds with AI coding tools as a daily practice, and we ship to production constantly. The role You will build production AI systems for the most demanding customers in legal: features on top of frontier models, data infrastructure that handles a law firm's documents at scale, and integrations with the systems firms actually run. Some weeks you are deep in our platform; other weeks you are embedded with a client's engineering team delivering on their stack. You own what you ship, end to end. What you will do • Design and build production features on top of frontier language models • Build data infrastructure and processing systems that scale from thousands to millions of documents • Build integrations with enterprise systems law firms run every day: document management, collaboration, time and billing • Work directly with client engineering teams at major law firms, including architecture, delivery, and production support • Develop with AI agents as your primary tooling, and help push our agent-based engineering practice forward • Care about evals, guardrails, and observability, because our clients are law firms and wrong answers are expensive What we are looking for • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience (TypeScript/Node and Python are our core; strong engineers from other stacks are welcome) • Real experience building production features on top of LLMs: agent loops, tool calling, structured output, retrieval, prompt and context engineering • Strong product judgment and the ability to work directly with clients: you can sit with a knowledge management team, understand how they describe their work, and turn it into working software • Comfort with data: Postgres, data modeling, pipeline work, messy real-world documents • A bias for shipping. We iterate in days, not quarters A huge plus • Experience in legal technology or at a law firm: document management, knowledge management, litigation or transactional workflows • You know what a matter is, why conflicts checks exist, and why metadata quality makes or breaks a KM system • Experience in client-facing professional services or embedded delivery teams Requirements • Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to maintain that authorization without employer sponsorship, now or in the future • Our clients are major law firms; employment is contingent on successful completion of a background check, and client engagements may require conflicts screening • Able to travel occasionally for client on-sites and kickoffs Compensation and benefits • Base salary of $150,000 to $180,000, depending on experience • Performance bonus • Full benefits package: medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), and paid time off • Ground-floor role at a fast-growing company defining a new category Reframe is an equal opportunity employer.
