AI Engineer

Applied AI EngineerNYC, hybrid We're partnered with a leading quantitative investment and technology firm that is building out a new generation of AI-powered tooling and looking to hire an AI Engineer to help drive the initiative.This is a highly hands-on role focused on identifying real business problems and building AI-driven solutions that improve how engineers, researchers, and domain experts work. Rather than conducting pure AI research, you'll design and deploy production-grade systems that leverage modern LLMs, agents, and workflow automation to create measurable impact. What You'll Work On: • Agentic AI systems and multi-agent workflows • Internal copilots and knowledge assistants • Workflow automation and AI-powered productivity tools • RAG applications and retrieval systems • LLM integrations and business-facing AI solutions • Developer tooling and internal platforms • End-to-end AI product development from concept to production Required: • BS or higher from a top-tier academic institution in Machine Learning, AI, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field • Strong software engineering fundamentals • Expert-level Python development experience • Experience building and deploying AI applications in production • Hands-on work with agents, LangGraph, LangChain, MCP, RAG, or similar frameworks • Experience partnering with stakeholders to solve business problems through technology • Ability to operate independently and take ownership of projects from idea to delivery • Excellent communication skills Ideal Backgrounds: • AI startups, fronier AI labs, or top AI tech teams • Developer productivity platforms • Internal tooling organizations • AI platform and infrastructure teams • Enterprise AI product teams • Applied AI and automation-focused engineering groups This is an opportunity to join a small, high-impact team where you'll have significant ownership over both technical direction and product outcomes while working on some of the most interesting AI challenges in industry.
