About the Role

What to Expect At Caspar Health, we don't just build software—we deliver Combined Care. We bridge the gap between technology and medical expertise to help people regain their independence after illness or accidents. For us, digital innovation only works when paired with personal, human medical support. The Role: Lead. Build. Coach. We are looking for a Senior Engineer who is ready to step up into disciplinary and technical leadership. • The "Combined Care" Mission: Develop intuitive frontends that empower both patients and medical professionals, ensuring technology enhances—not replaces—the human touch • People Leadership: You are the anchor of the team. You will lead, coach, and take full responsibility for the growth and well-being of your fellow engineers • Strategic Ownership: Directly collaborate with other Product Squads and Clinical teams to translate medical needs into seamless digital experiences You're a fit if you are a React Native expert who wants to lead a team where the "Definition of Done" includes making someone's recovery possible. Your Challenges • Manage Multiple Projects: Effectively oversee and orchestrate development across several concurrent projects, including our white-label mobile apps, web applications, and core React Native mobile apps • Shape the Engineering Culture: You are the mentor and disciplinary lead for the team. You don't just "manage" them; you empower them to grow, collaborating closely through Scrum while remaining hands-on with the code yourself • Technical Sovereignty & Pragmatism: From day one, you own the technical roadmap of our application. You have a knack for cutting through complexity to make simple, pragmatic decisions on how we evolve our product to meet patient needs without over-engineering • Pioneer AI & Automation: Actively use LLMs for coding and spearhead the development of a multi-agent environment to multiply the team's efficiency and capabilities • Bridge Technology & Therapy: Work at the heart of Combined Care. You'll collaborate directly with Rehabilitation and Prevention experts to translate medical expertise into intuitive mobile experiences • Set New Standards & Drive Innovation: As a key partner for Product and Design, you ensure that our frontend isn't just user-friendly, but a benchmark for digital health accessibility. You define the processes and introduce the best practices that keep our development at the cutting edge Your Profile • Mindset & Attitude: You possess a strong "can-do" attitude and a growth mindset, always eager to learn, adapt, and tackle new challenges with positivity • React Native & Mobile Ecosystem: You have extensive experience in mobile application development, specifically within the React Native ecosystem, and a proven track record of mentoring or leading engineering teams • OTA Updates: You are highly experienced in practicing Over-the-Air (OTA) updates to ensure smooth, continuous delivery for mobile applications • AI-Assisted Engineering: You actively use LLMs in your daily coding workflows and have the knowledge and vision to build and integrate multi-agent environments for your team • Frontend Mastery: You are an expert in modern JS frameworks with years of experience in both web/frontend and mobile development • Full-Stack Understanding: You have a strong interest in backend technologies (such as Node.js, TypeScript, and/or Ruby on Rails) and can effectively bridge the gap between frontend and backend architectures • Quality & Testing: You have experience with end-to-end testing frameworks (like Cypress) and guide the team in implementing best practices for test coverage and code quality • State Management: You have a deep understanding of state management frameworks (like RxJS or Redux) and help your team utilize them efficiently • Value-Driven Execution: You can analyze complex customer requirements and quickly develop intuitive, pragmatic solutions that provide significant, tangible value to patients Why Caspar Health? • Remote-first with flexible working hours – office optional in Berlin-Mitte or up to 90 days a year outside of Germany • To match this, we support you with a monthly home office allowance and an additional meal subsidy • Plenty of time to recharge – with 30 vacation days per year • Budget for learning & development, conferences, and coaching – tailored to your potential and growth opportunities. • High level of ownership and decision-making freedom – no micromanagement. We hire experts who know what they're doing. #MakeAnImpact! • Genuine collaboration – no silos, no egos.
