POSITION OVERVIEWThis role is designed for engineers with strong power systems fundamentals who are interested in applying modern analytics and AI-enabled tools to reliability, resilience, and system planning challenges. Engineers in this position support utility studies using advanced planning platforms, data-driven models, and emerging AI-assisted methods, with opportunities to contribute to the continued enhancement of these tools as they gain experience. Engineering title and level will be determined based on experience and qualifications. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Support reliability, resilience, and system planning projects for electric utilities • Perform analytical, simulation, and data-driven studies using power system engineering principles • Use and help enhance advanced system planning and reliability tools, including AI-enabled solutions • Develop Python-based scripts or workflows to automate analyses and improve efficiency • Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and software developers on technical solutions • Develop foundational project management and technical leadership skills • Promote teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organization REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Background in power systems, reliability, resilience, or system planning • Experience with power system analysis or planning tools • Working knowledge of Python and interest in coding, scripting, or automation • Interest in applying data analytics or AI techniques to engineering problems • Willingness to learn and work with AI-enabled engineering tools • Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field (PhD a plus) • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience with data analytics, optimization, or AI/ML concepts applied to engineering problems • Development of analytical tools or workflows in Python (e.g., NumPy, pandas, SciPy) • Experience using modern AI-assisted development tools and environments (e.g., VS Code, AI coding assistants such as Codex or Claude) • Familiarity with applied AI architectures or data platforms relevant to engineering analytics (e.g., graph databases, RAG, or similar techniques) • Familiarity with utility reliability metrics (SAIDI, SAIFI, CAIDI, resilience metrics) • Advanced coursework, research projects, or publications in power systems or analytics • Participation in technical societies (IEEE, CIGRE, etc.) LOCATIONDanovo Energy Solutions has offices in Raleigh, NC, Markham, ON, Lombard, IL, and San Clemente, CA.
