About the Role

Ensora Health is the leading provider of software and services for mental and behavioral health therapists, trusted by over 200,000 individual providers and more than 28,000 practices. Our unmatched expertise, partnership, and breadth of products allow us to fine-tune solutions that meet the specific needs of everyone from solo practitioners to larger practices. With AI-enabled solutions that span practice management to electronic medical records and e-prescribing to billing, we help eliminate administrative complexity and create harmony between therapists, their clients, and the whole healthcare community. Job Description We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with strong expertise in .NET, C#, and preferably MongoDB who is passionate about using AI to multiply their engineering impact. You won't just build software. You'll actively leverage AI tools and techniques across the development lifecycle to write better code, ship faster, and solve problems that would be impractical through traditional approaches alone. This position is an integral part of a highly focused team building a robust practice management solution for mental health providers. We're a team that treats AI as a first-class part of our engineering workflow, not a buzzword, and we're looking for engineers who think the same way. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, and deploy applications using .NET (Core and Framework) and C#. • Actively use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate coding, refactoring, debugging, and documentation. • Identify and implement opportunities to integrate AI into the development pipeline — from automated test generation to code review assistance to intelligent monitoring. • Work with MongoDB, with a good understanding of schema design, indexing, and performance tuning. • Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers in an Agile/Scrum environment. • Ensure strong code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and AI-assisted test coverage analysis. • Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards, leveraging AI tools to maintain consistency and catch issues early. • Integrate with third-party APIs and internal microservices. • Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance. • Stay current with emerging AI tools and share findings with the team — we encourage experimentation. • Maintain thorough documentation of system designs, processes, and procedures. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • 4+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on .NET technologies. • Strong proficiency in C# and .NET. • Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants and tools as part of your daily workflow. Not just casual use, but a genuine integration into how you build software. • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), SOLID principles, and design patterns. • Familiarity with version control systems (Git preferred) and CI/CD pipelines. • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. • A mindset of continuous improvement — you actively look for ways to automate repetitive work and improve team efficiency. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms. • Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture. • Front-end experience with React (preferred) or Angular. • Knowledge of unit testing frameworks (NUnit, xUnit, MSTest). • Experience using AI for non-trivial engineering tasks such as automated test generation, intelligent log analysis, code migration, architectural exploration, or prompt engineering for developer tooling. • Familiarity with Azure DevOps. • Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases. • Healthcare industry experience is a plus. Why This Role Stands Out • AI isn't an afterthought here. We actively invest in AI-augmented workflows and give engineers the autonomy to experiment with new tools and approaches. • Meaningful work. You'll be building software that directly supports Mental Health providers — the impact is real and tangible. • Small, focused team. Less bureaucracy, more ownership. Your ideas and contributions will shape the product and the engineering culture. Additional Information While we've outlined some key qualities we typically seek, it's essential to remember that there might be additional unique strengths and talents you possess that would make you an exceptional match for us, even if they're not explicitly mentioned. Studies have consistently highlighted the significance of this principle, particularly for individuals from disenfranchised backgrounds, including women and other marginalized groups. These individuals often hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement, unlike their male counterparts who are more inclined to ap
