About the Role
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Engineer / Tech Lead, Growth in the United States.
This role is a critical leadership position on a fast-growing Growth engineering team, responsible for optimizing the full customer acquisition funnel from initial signup through checkout. The Lead Engineer will split time between hands-on coding and team management, driving experiments that improve conversion and retention metrics while ensuring high-quality user experiences. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams to deliver full-stack features, implement experimentation infrastructure, and continuously optimize subscription and pricing flows. This role requires a strong technical leader who can mentor engineers, design scalable solutions, and leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate shipping. The work is fully remote, high-impact, and directly tied to the company's top-line growth.
Accountabilities
• Lead and manage a small team of engineers, providing mentorship, 1:1 coaching, pair programming, and career development guidance.
• Design, ship, and optimize full-stack features across the acquisition funnel using Ruby on Rails, React, and TypeScript.
• Plan and execute A/B experiments for signup flows, checkout processes, plan pricing, and product recommendations, balancing conversion and retention goals.
• Build and maintain infrastructure for experimentation, analytics, and cohort-level tracking of retention metrics.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to define experiment designs, sample sizing, metrics selection, and trade-offs for growth initiatives.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools across the team to increase development velocity and efficiency.
• Ensure the acquisition funnel is scalable, reliable, and delivers high-quality user experiences aligned with growth objectives.
Requirements
• Proven experience leading a team of 4–8 engineers, with direct reports, growth, and retention of talent.
• Strong hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails and React; knowledge of Node.js or Python is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience shipping growth experiments in subscription products, including funnels, checkout optimization, and pricing architecture.
• Ability to design experiments, select appropriate metrics, calculate sample sizes, and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of funnels, cohort analysis, and event-sourced or similar architectures.
• Experience with agentic AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Devin, Cursor) and integrating them into development workflows.
• Comfortable in a remote, fast-paced, and collaborative environment across North American time zones.
• Nice to have: experience with healthcare, wellness, or regulated subscription commerce; Stripe, Klarna, or similar payment platforms; Amplitude, Optimizely, or LaunchDarkly experimentation platforms.
Benefits
• Competitive salary range and equity in the company.
• Full suite of health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage (U.S. & Canada).
• Flexible vacation and time-off policies.
• Opportunities to lead and grow a high-impact team in a fast-scaling company.
• Remote work with collaboration across North American and Latin American time zones.
• Exposure to cutting-edge experimentation, analytics, and AI-assisted development tools.
