About the Role
AI Vibe Coding & Automation Engineering Internship
Remote | Unpaid Internship | 3–6 Months | 15–20 hrs/week | Master's Degree Required
THIS IS NOT A SUMMER INTERNSHIP. We are hiring immediately.
About the Internship
We are seeking a graduate-level intern specializing in Artificial Intelligence, AI Automation, or Data Science to help build software using an AI-assisted development workflow known as "Vibe Coding."Unlike traditional software engineering internships, this role is not focused on manual coding or building backend services from scratch.Instead, interns will learn to orchestrate AI development systems — specifically Claude CLI and repository memory systems — to generate, review, refactor, and finalize production-ready code using existing engineering resources.Interns will work with a large structured documentation system and AI knowledge index that contains architecture documentation, coding standards, and implementation workflows. Using these resources, interns will guide AI tools to build and iterate on MVP software systems.Depending on the project assignment, interns may work on:• AI-assisted development of internal platform features• AI-assisted development of marketing software tools• AI-driven code reviews and refactoring workflows• automated software generation pipelinesThis internship is ideal for students interested in AI-assisted software development, automation systems, and building real-world AI engineering workflows.
What is Vibe Coding?
Vibe Coding is an emerging development methodology where engineers guide AI systems to generate and refine software instead of manually writing every line of code.In this role, interns will learn to:• train AI systems to understand a codebase• retrieve architecture knowledge using vector databases• generate implementation plans for new features• review and refactor AI-generated code• finalize production-ready implementationsRather than acting as a traditional programmer, the intern acts as an AI systems operator and architect, guiding the AI to produce correct implementations using existing engineering assets.
What You'll Work On
Interns will primarily work from our Vibe Coding Internship Backlog, which contains structured tasks such as:• Setting up AI development environments using Claude CLI• configuring AI toolchains and development workflows• analyzing existing repositories and architecture documentation• defining MVP scopes based on product documentation• guiding AI to generate code based on existing engineering patterns• reviewing and refactoring AI-generated code• debugging issues and validating implementations• documenting AI-assisted development processesProjects may include:
Platform Development• AI-assisted development of features for our microservices-based platform• generating and refining backend and frontend components using AI
Marketing Software• building internal marketing tools• implementing automation and data processing workflows• developing AI-assisted analytics tools
Key Responsibilities
• Learn and operate an AI-assisted software development workflow• analyze technical documentation to determine MVP feature scope• guide AI tools to generate new code based on existing architecture• review, refactor, and finalize AI-generated implementations• debug and correct AI-generated code when necessary• document implementation workflows and development findings• collaborate with engineers and product leadership on feature scope
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in one of the following (or closely related fields):• Artificial Intelligence• Data Science• Machine Learning• AI Engineering• Computational AnalyticsStrong interest in AI-assisted development workflowsComfort working with technical documentation and architecture systems.Basic familiarity with:• APIs and software architecture concepts• Python or data science tools• AI tools and automation systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving ability.Ability to guide AI tools to produce correct outputs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with any of the following is a plus:• AI automation tools• vector databases or embeddings• prompt engineering• AI agents or workflow automation• data analysis or machine learning workflowsStudents with an academic background in AI or Data Science are strongly preferred.
What You Will Gain
This internship provides hands-on experience with AI-assisted software engineering workflows, which represent the next evolution of software development. You will gain exposure to:• AI development toolchains• automated software generation workflows• production architecture documentation systems• real-world MVP development processesInterns will work directly with leadership and engineering teams to build real-world software systems using AI.
