Data Engineer (5344)

NextPath Career Partners is currently seeking a Data Engineer to join our client's team in Tampa, FL. This is a remote, contract position. SALARY: $60–$85/hr (depending on experience) Unfortunately, at this time our client is unable to sponsor or transfer visas. Requirements • Mid–senior level experience as a Data Engineer • Strong hands-on experience with PySpark, Apache Iceberg, and AWS data ecosystem (S3, orchestration, lakehouse architecture) • Experience working in large-scale data environments (>2 PB), preferably petabyte scale • Healthcare data experience including complex schemas and FHIR R4 familiarity • Working knowledge of Data lakehouse architecture, AWS Glue, EMR, Lake Formation • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team • Experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and Claude Responsibilities • Design, build, and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines • Develop and manage PySpark and Iceberg data pipelines in AWS • Support healthcare data archiving and monetization initiatives for multiple tenants • Manage complex healthcare data involving FHIR R4, EMPI, and de-identification pipelines • Create data quality frameworks and ensure data integrity in production • Troubleshoot and resolve production data issues promptly • Build monitoring and alerting systems for mission-critical data pipelines • Collaborate on technical decisions related to schema evolution, data isolation, performance, and cost optimization • Support HIPAA-compliant data processing and governance in AWS environment Nextpath Career Partners NextPath is a candidate centric recruiting firm focused on your career goals to help you find your next path!
