About the Role
About the RoleWe're looking for a technically sharp, mission-driven AI Cloud Engineer to join our cloud engineering practice. In this role, you'll own the full lifecycle of AI-enabled cloud solutions — from architecture through deployment — serving federal and public sector clients where security, compliance, and performance are non-negotiable. You'll operate as both a hands-on engineer and a trusted technical advisor, helping clients modernize legacy environments and build AI capabilities that actually work at scale.
What You'll Do
• Architect and deploy secure, scalable AI solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, ECS, and EKS
• Lead end-to-end cloud migrations — including re-architecture, refactoring, and containerization of legacy systems
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation; engineer CI/CD pipelines for AI model and infrastructure deployment
• Implement MLOps practices including model versioning, monitoring, and retraining workflows
• Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Kiro) to accelerate delivery and improve solution quality
• Conduct architecture and security reviews; identify gaps and drive remediation
• Ensure solutions meet federal compliance standards including FedRAMP and NIST frameworks
• Advise technical and executive stakeholders on AI strategy, roadmap prioritization, and cloud optimization
• Collaborate across cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and program teams to maintain secure, compliant environments
• Produce architecture documentation and present findings and recommendations to leadership
What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree in a related field plus AWS Professional certification(s) and AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty
• 8+ years in cloud and AI technologies, with at least 4 years focused on AWS AI services — or 10 years of equivalent hands-on experience
• US Citizenship required
• Proven track record architecting AI solutions in compliance-driven, secure environments
• Deep familiarity with AWS AI/ML services, cloud-native architecture patterns, and DevSecOps practices
• Experience modernizing legacy systems and driving cloud transformation initiatives
• Solid understanding of federal security and governance frameworks
• Strong communicator comfortable presenting to both technical teams and executive leadership
• Able to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously and work Eastern Time Zone hours
Bonus Points
• Active security clearance or Public Trust (DOJ preferred)
• Experience with generative AI and large language model deployment
• Background in DevSecOps within regulated government programs
• Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture in cloud environments
• Experience integrating AI into enterprise ERP, data lakes, or mission-critical systems
• History advising senior leadership on AI adoption and digital transformation strategy
