Summary: • We are seeking an experienced Azure API Management (APIM) Architect to design, build, and secure enterprise-grade API ecosystems leveraging Microsoft Azure services, AI-driven capabilities, and robust security frameworks • The ideal candidate has extensive experience in Azure API Management, Azure AI Services, and enterprise security practices, with the ability to design scalable integration architectures and enforce governance across APIs, microservices, and data systems • This position is Remote, with occasional travel to Phoenix, AZ Responsibilities: • Design and implement secure, scalable API solutions using Azure API Management (APIM), including policies for authentication, throttling, transformation, and analytics • Architect API gateway patterns that enable AI-driven workflows (e.g., integrating Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, or ML models) • Collaborate with development teams to build and publish RESTful and GraphQL APIs for internal and external consumption • Enforce API governance, including naming conventions, documentation standards, versioning, and access control • Integrate Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions leveraging Azure AD, OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT tokens • Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability reviews, and remediation planning for API endpoints and backend systems • Implement CI/CD pipelines for API deployments using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Terraform • Enable observability through logging, tracing, and monitoring via App Insights, Log Analytics, and custom dashboards • Support integration with AI and data services (Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Search, Synapse, Event Hub) for intelligent API enrichments • Serve as a technical advisor on API modernization strategies, cloud-native design, and zero-trust architecture Qualifications: • 8+ years of Software Development and Integration experience, with 5+ years focused on Azure API Management and related Azure services • Strong command of API design principles (REST, GraphQL, SOAP), data formats (JSON, XML, Avro), and API lifecycle management • Proven experience in Azure cloud architecture, including Function Apps, Logic Apps, App Services, Service Bus, Event Grid, and Key Vault • Demonstrated understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, encryption, key management, and zero-trust models • Experience with Azure Security Center, Defender for Cloud, and Managed Identities • Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure Resource Manager/Bicep, or Terraform for infrastructure automation • Familiarity with AI/ML model integration, prompt engineering, or Azure AI orchestration workflows • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or related field Preferred Qualifications: • Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Developer Associate Certification • Hands-on experience with API-led integration in enterprise environments (Finance, Healthcare, or Insurance preferred) • Knowledge of Microservices patterns, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), or Service Mesh architectures • Background in Data Governance or Privacy-by-design API implementations • Prior experience enabling AI agents or chatbots using enterprise APIs and cloud orchestration layers Why Join Paradigm At Paradigm, integrity drives innovation.
