Associate AI Developer

This is truly an associate level role (1-3 years out of college). We are seeking an AI Developer with at least 1–2 years of professional experience in AI, machine learning, or software development to build and deploy practical AI solutions across an industrial and manufacturing business. This role combines AI application development with machine learning, using Python and Microsoft Azure to improve business processes and solve operational challenges.Working alongside senior AI leadership, you will develop applications, integrate existing AI models, support custom model development, and help move prototypes into production. Candidates should bring hands-on experience delivering solutions in a professional environment.Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, and deploy AI applications and automation solutions using Python and Azure services. • Build solutions using Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, Azure Machine Learning, and related Microsoft technologies. • Support machine learning model development, training, evaluation, and deployment. • Integrate AI models into applications, APIs, and business workflows. • Develop generative AI capabilities, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AI agents. • Create and maintain Python applications, scripts, APIs, and data processing pipelines. • Support solutions using Copilot Studio, Power Automate, and other Power Platform tools. • Partner with business stakeholders to define use cases, clarify requirements, and test solutions. • Evaluate solution performance, troubleshoot issues, and support reliable production operation. • Maintain documentation covering code, experiments, technical decisions, deployment, and support requirements. • Present progress, demonstrations, and business outcomes to technical and nontechnical audiences. • Contribute to reusable components and development standards across the organization.Required Qualifications • At least 1–2 years of professional experience in AI development, machine learning, or software engineering, including hands-on Python development. • Experience contributing to working applications, integrations, automation, or machine learning solutions in a business environment. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical discipline. • Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including model training, evaluation, and deployment considerations. • Familiarity with APIs, Git, and software development practices. • Experience with cloud services and the ability to learn new platforms quickly. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to work onsite in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. • Academic coursework and personal projects may supplement, but do not replace, the required professional experience.Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, or Azure Machine Learning. • Experience building an AI or machine learning solution from initial concept through deployment. • Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, or vector databases. • Experience with SQL, REST APIs, and application integration. • Exposure to Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse, or Power Platform. • Familiarity with testing, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and secure development practices. • Experience applying technology within manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or B2B environments.What You Will Gain • Direct mentorship from experienced AI and technology leaders. • Hands-on experience delivering AI solutions with measurable business impact. • Exposure to enterprise development practices and the Microsoft AI ecosystem. • Opportunities to grow toward AI engineering, machine learning engineering, and solution architecture roles.
