Role Overview
We are building out our AI-driven voice assistant product and need someone who sits at the intersection of prompt engineering, AI agent development, and full-stack coding. This is not a pure developer role and not a pure QA role — you will own the quality, configuration, and continuous improvement of our Voice AI assistants end-to-end, while also contributing to engineering tasks and helping us mature our AI-assisted development workflow. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with a remote engineering team.
What You'll Do
Voice AI & Prompt Engineering
• Audit flagged calls to identify root causes: hallucinations, incorrect logic, premature hang-ups, tone drift, interruption patterns.
• Write, refine, and version-control system prompts (Markdown) stored in Git to improve AI behavior across client deployments.
• Stress-test new prompts in sandbox environments before live deployment.
• Manage prompt and configuration changes using Git (pull, branch, commit, push, PR).
Client-Facing Responsibilities
• Communicate directly with clients via email and Zoom to gather requirements, report on AI assistant performance, and deliver updates.
• Translate client feedback into actionable configuration changes and prompt updates.
• Document changes and link them to client-reported issues in Jira.
AI Agent Development
• Build and maintain AI agents and automated workflows using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent agentic coding environments.
• Help define and implement a team-wide AI-assisted development workflow — this is a strategic initiative and you will be a key contributor.
• Prototype internal tooling to delegate routine coding and QA tasks to AI agents.
Engineering Contributions
• Review, debug, and edit code across our stack: NestJS, TypeScript, Next.js, React, MongoDB, AWS.
• Contribute to pull request reviews and flag technical debt or logic issues.
• Self-manage tasks in Jira: update ticket statuses, write clear bug reports, link call logs to fixes.
• Participate in project huddles and team syncs.
Required Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience with prompt engineering for LLMs (GPT-4, Claude, or similar) — not just API usage, but systematic prompt design and iteration.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI tools: Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience building or training AI agents for real workflows.
• Proficiency with Git: branching, committing, pull requests, resolving conflicts.
• Proficiency in Markdown for structured documentation and prompt management.
• Ability to read, review, and make targeted edits to TypeScript/JavaScript codebases (NestJS, Next.js, React).
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills — you will be client-facing.
• Logical troubleshooting mindset: able to distinguish between prompt issues, config issues, and code bugs.
• Comfortable working async and self-managing in a remote environment with Pacific Time Zone availability.
Nice to Have
• Experience with Voice AI platforms or telephony APIs (Twilio, Vapi, or similar).
• Background in conversational design or linguistics.
• Experience integrating with OpenAI, Anthropic, or other LLM APIs.
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Jira, Bitbucket, or Atlassian tooling.
• Basic understanding of JSON and REST API structures.
• Real estate or proptech domain knowledge.
Why Join Us?You'll have direct influence over how we build and scale AI-assisted workflows — both for our clients and internally. This role is a ground-floor opportunity to shape how a real estate tech company operationalizes AI agents across its engineering team. You'll work with a tight-knit, experienced team, report to an Engineering Manager who writes code, and have real ownership over your domain.
