About the Role

Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer (CTO)/Head of Engineering Location: United States (Remote or Hybrid) Company Overview We are building a next-generation financial platform for healthcare providers, bringing modern fintech infrastructure to one of the largest and most underserved sectors of the U.S. economy. Healthcare organizations still run their financial operations on outdated tools — fragmented procurement systems, legacy accounting platforms, manual expense workflows, and limited access to modern financial infrastructure. Our platform is designed to change that. We are building a modern financial operating system for healthcare providers, combining elements of platforms like Brex and Ramp with healthcare-specific financial workflows, spend management, corporate cards, procurement tooling, and intelligent financial automation. The company is venture backed with strong early interest from leading, national brand health-tech investors and we are already seeing meaningful engagement from design partners and potential early customers across the provider ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to join a well backed startup as a co-founder alongside a world class founder and set of investors. Founder Background The company is founded by an experienced healthcare technology operator with two prior successful exits in healthcare through acquisitions to Waystar and Premier. This role represents an opportunity for a technical leader to join as a co-founder with a founder who deeply understands the industry and its pain points, while building the technical platform required to unlock the opportunity. The Role We are seeking a Co-Founder / CTO / Head of Engineering to architect and build the company's technology platform from the ground up. This role will be responsible for defining the technical architecture, building the first versions of the product, and scaling the engineering organization as the company grows. The ideal candidate can operate effectively in two modes: Day-One Builder Someone capable of designing architecture, writing production code, and rapidly building the first generation of the platform. Long-Term Technical Leader. While leadership experience is preferred, the ability to build while demonstrating clear talent to lead is of more importance.Someone capable of recruiting, mentoring, and leading a world-class engineering team as the company scales. The CTO will work closely with the founder to define product strategy, technical direction, and long-term platform vision. AI-Native Engineering Leadership AI will be a core component of how this company operates. We are looking for a technical leader who is deeply familiar with modern AI-enabled development workflows and coding environments and understands how to leverage these tools to dramatically increase engineering velocity. This includes familiarity with: • AI-assisted coding environments • modern dev acceleration tools • rapid prototyping workflows • AI-enhanced development pipelines • emerging engineering productivity platforms The CTO should not only use these tools personally but also be capable of teaching and institutionalizing AI-enabled engineering practices across the organization. This role requires someone who: • actively stays current on emerging AI development tools and workflows • constantly evaluates new approaches to development efficiency • believes in building small, high-leverage engineering teams Equally important, the right leader will have low ego and high curiosity — someone comfortable hiring engineers who may be more technically current in emerging tools and empowering them to push the organization forward. The goal is to build an engineering culture that is continuously evolving and always operating at the frontier of modern development practices. Responsibilities • Architect and build the company's core platform from the ground up • Define system architecture, infrastructure, and development stack • Lead early product development and rapid iteration cycles • Implement AI-enabled development workflows across the engineering team • Recruit and build the founding engineering organization • Establish engineering culture and development best practices • Work closely with the founder on product and company strategy • Participate in technical discussions with investors and partners as needed Candidate Profile CANDIDATES MUST BE NOT ONLY AI FRIENDLY, BUT WELL VERSED IN BOTH PHILOSOPHY AND PRACTICE OF THE LATEST TOOLING!
