Senior Software EngineerLocation: 100% Remote / Work From Home (NYC Based Company) OverviewOur client is an innovative and well established organization in the education technology space, based in New York City. They are currently seeking a Software Engineer Consultant to support a series of ongoing technical initiatives, partnering closely with a cross-functional team to deliver impactful solutions across a suite of internal and external platforms. This role is project-driven, focused on executing clearly defined development work while collaborating with product, design, and engineering stakeholders. The environment is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and centered around delivering scalable, high-quality applications that support a large user base. Required Experience • 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in a project-based or delivery-focused environment • Strong background in modern web development • Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience • Strong proficiency in JavaScript • Experience working with modern frontend frameworks (Angular preferred) • Solid understanding of Node.js • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and SCSS • Familiarity with databases such as MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Codex, etc.) • Ability to work effectively within established engineering workflows and standards Key Responsibilities • Partner with Product, Design, and QA teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions • Participate in planning sessions, including estimation, backlog refinement, and sprint execution • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective fixes • Contribute to team discussions, offering input to help drive projects forward efficiently • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code aligned with established engineering standards • Communicate project updates clearly, proactively flagging risks or blockers as they arise • Collaborate through code reviews and pair programming to maintain high development quality • Execute against defined deliverables within agreed timelines and technical parameters Core Competencies • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills • Ability to quickly ramp up and contribute in a dynamic project environment • Highly organized with strong time management capabilities • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams
